WHEREAS, National Farm Cxisis Da.y, October 2, is supported by farmers,
farm organizations, and their supporters �n labor, churches, low and
moderate income groups, and senior citizen organizations, across the
nation to support farmers and protest the plight of our xural economy,
and
WHEREAS, b�innesota Farm Crisis Day is desi.gned to help Minnesotans
focus on the relationsh�.p between the threat to the farm economy and
the state, regional, subuxban, and urban economies, and
WHEREAS, people of St. �aul have a stake in revitalizing our state's
farm economy and in pxeventing the further loss of farms, now therefore
be it
RESOLVED, that the St. Paul City Council hereby proclaims October 2, 1982,
as "National Faxm Crisis Day" in St. Paul in recognizing that the health
of the agricultural economy �.s vital to the local, state, and national
economies.
