WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul now provides a comprehensive Health and Welfaxe
Insurance Progra.m for its employees and employees of the Independent School District #625, and
WHEREAS, under this program, the City has a contract with Group Health Plan,
Incorporated, to provide Hospital and Med.ical Surgical coverage, and
WH�tEA.S, Group Health Plan, Incorporated proposes to amend said contract to limit
payment to 80°fo rather than 100°fo of the hospital inpatient costs for chemical dependency and
�,dmissions when not authorized by a Plan affiliated physician, and
WHII2EAS, pursuant to the terms of this contract Group Health Plan, Incorporated. has
submitted renewal rates for the covera,ge for the yeax, October l, 1982 to September 30, 1983,
as follows:
1. EMI'IAYEE COVERAGE:

2. REGULAR RETIREE:
Retiree Premium (Retiree on Med.icaxe A and B} 25.11 City Pay
Family Premium (Spouse on Medicaxe A and B} 50.22 City Pay
Family Premium (One or N`,�re not Eligible for Medicare) 118.71 (City Pay $112.69)
Retiree will pay balance of premiums not paid by City, and
RESOLVID, that the City Council does hereby authorize and direct the proper City
Officials to renew the existing contract as a.mended between the City of Saint Paul and Group
Health Plan, Incorporated, and be it
FURTfiER RESOLVED, that the City and Independent School District #625 sha11 pay that
portion of the premiums as is agreed upon by the process of collective bargaining and the
employee shall pay the balance of premiums due through payroll ded.uctions, and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the proper city personnel be directed to pay these premiums
as they fall due, andbe it
FINALLY RESOLVID, that the City Clerk shall be instructed to send a copy of this
resolution to Group Health Plan, Incorporated.
