RE50LVED, that the Civil Service Rules be amended in Section
3. L (Technical Group), by inserting the title of Operations Assistant-
Town Square Park in Grade 24 and the title of Program Planner-Town
Square Park in Grade 16; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Civil Service Rules be further
amended in 5ection 32 by inserting, in proper alphabetical order, the
attached specifications for the new titles of Operations Assistant-
Town Square Park and Program Planner-Town Square Park.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
General Statement of Duties: Performs technical work assisting the Town
Square Park Manager in the marketing and maintenance of Town Square
Park; and performs related duties as required.
Supervision Required: Works under the general supervision of the Town
Square Park Manager.
Supervision Exercised: May exercise immediate technical supervision over
clerical employees and/or interns.
TYPICAL DUTIES PERFORMED
The listed examples may not include all duties performed by all positions in
this class.
Provides information to potential clients relative to the rental of Town
Square Park for special events and promotes use of the Park for rental
functions.
Negotiates fees, services and special arrangements for rental events
consistent with rules and regulations.
Prepares and submits park rental contracts for approval.
Arranges and directs special services and personnel for rental events such
as security, coat checking, and special sound and lighting effects and
furniture arrangement; advises clients as to availability of caterers,
musicians, etc. ,
Attends or schedules a representative to attend special events to assist
renters, to respond to emergency situations and to monitor cash bar
receipts.
Computes total rental.charges, Town Square Park expenses and profit or loss
for each event, maintains financial records and prepares reports as
required.
Arranges and conducts tours for interested parties including out-of-town
visitors, special event groups and rental prospects.
Assists in the selection, booking and set-up of entertainment programs,
exhibits and special events.
Assists in the maintenance and operation of the park; maintains order,
operates mechanical controls, assists the general public, plans and
schedules activities and interprets park policy and regulations.
KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

PURPOSE AND RATTONALE FOR THIS ACTION
This Resolution will establish the ti.tles and class specificata.ons for
Operations Assistant-Town Square Park and Program Planner-Town
Squa.re Park in Grades 24 and 16 respectively of Section 3.L (Technical
Group) of the Civil Se rvice Ru1e s.
The bi-weekly salary rates for Grades 16 and 24 are as follows:
