WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation for the
City of Saint Paul has promulgated Rules and Regulations; and
WHEREAS, those aforementioned Rules and Regulations state,
in part:
"Section 3. Special Activities. . . .
3. 2. Swimming. . . .
d. No person shall bring into or use at any
beach or pool any inner tube, life raft or
other inflatable buoyant object intended
to support a person except personal flotation
devices approved by the U. S. Coast Guard."
and
WHEREAS, within the parks in the City of Saint Paul there are
numerous lakes which are not surrounded by beaches; and
WHEREAS, it is the intent of the Council of the City of Saint
Paul to protect the health and safety of those who patronize its
parks; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that Section 3, Special Activities, 3. 2. Swimming,
(d) be and hereby is amended to read:
"d. No person shall bring into or use at any beach,
lake, or pool any inner tube, life raft, or
oTr inflatable buoyant object intended to
support a person except personal flotation
devices approved by the U.S. Coast Guard."
