3 WHEREAS, Cluis is a tireless compe6tor and consnmmate team player, Imown for his recognirion of the pain, toil, and sacrifice of his
4 offensive line; and
5 WFiEREAS, Chris is a proud graduate of Cretin-Derham Hall, where he successfully toiled under the rigorous and mighty tradirion of
6 Cretin-Derham football; and
7 WI�REAS, Chris took his Saint Paul and Cretin-Derham roots on the road to lead Florida State to the Narional Championship, using
8 his leadership to keep his team ranked #1 in the counhy for the entire season and show the world what ffie combination of Saint Pau]
9 and Cretin-Derham can do to an opposing defense; and
10 WIIEREAS, Chris was selected 1 s` Team All-Academic for the Atlantic Coast Conference and Florida State Co-Offensive Player of the
11 Yeaz for his leadership on and off the field; and
12 WI�REAS, Chris was the recipient of the prestigious Brian Piccolo Awazd for his courageous recovery from injury and his return to
13 lead his team to victory; and
14 WIIEREAS, Chris is an example of what it means to be a leader, a compe6tor, and a true Saint Paulite; now, therefore be it
15 RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul hereby declazes Wednesday, May 3, 2000, to be
16 Chris Weinke Day
17 in the City of Saint Paul.
