WHEREAS, The Council of the City of Saint Paul did approve the South of Front Rehabilitation
Project as part of the Community Development Block Grant Year V Program on January 9, 1979,
by Resolution #272352; and
WHEREAS, the activities contained in this project included acquisition of substandard
structures, associa�ed demolition and relocation expenses, rehabilitation assistance and
installation of public improvements; and
WHEREAS, all of the activities have been completed with the exception of the public
improvements; and
WHEREAS, there exists a fund balance within the project of $322,696 which is available
to complete the necessary public improvements surrounding Block 355 and Galtier St. ; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that upon the recommendation of the Mayor, the Council of the City of Saint Paul
does hereby approve the additional public improvements surrounding Block 355 and Galtier
Street in the CD Year V South of Front Project, funding to be derived from the projects'
existing fund balance.

The South of Front project was included as part of the Corranutniy Development Block
Grant Program in CD Years IV,V,and VI. This project was a concentrated effort by
the City to improve the Rice St./Lewis Park neighborhood. Activities included
acquisition of substandard structures, associated relocation and demolition costs,
housing rehabilitation and public improv�nents. This resolution will allow for the
completion of the public improvement portion of the project with existing fund balances.

and a portion of Galtier St. will be transferred from existing project line items. .
No additional funding or personnel is required ,
The total cost of the project is not changed, only the allocation
