William Donovan Valustion and Assessmeat Engineer Date: July 29, 1982 Subject: Petition of the City of Saint Paul for the vacation of Lots 7 and 8, Block 9, Schroeders Addition (Fire Station No. 14) Public Hearing - August 10, 1982 The City, by requeat of ita Fire Department acquired this parcel on the north-. west corner of Snelling and Ashland Avenues for the purpose of building a fire station building. The land was purchased in 1908, and the building was complet- ed in 1910. The Fire Department by letter of November 27, 1981, declared this land and build- ing surplus to their needs upon completion of a new fire station in August, 1982. The Department of Planning and Bconomic Development has requested the site be conveyed to Rousing and Redevelopmeat Authority for appropriate development. No other City department has expressed a public use of said site. There were no objections, reco�►endations or restrictions received from any other City department or utility compaay in response to �y letter of inquiry sent them. In view of the foregoing, I recommend that the vacation be approved subject to the following terms and conditions; 1.
