INTERDEPARTMENTAL MEMORANDUM
DIVISION OF PUBLIC HEALTH
August 12, 1982
T0: Robert Sandquist, Acting Director
Department of Community Se c
FRaNt: Dr. Paul J. Cox
Director of Envir alth
SUBJECT: Proposed amend en o Chapter 331: Food Ordinance
The adoption of this amendment will prevent the slaughtering and
selling of chickens which have not been federally inspected. A
loophole in the federal regulations did allow this practice; this
loophole will be eliminated. We have progressed too far in pro-
viding the public with inspected, wholesome poultry products to
take a backward step now.
