RESOLVED, that the Civil Service Rules be amended in Section 3. B
by placing a star (�) before the title of Tabulating Machine Operator II in
Grade 19, and by adding at the bottom of th.e page the following statement:
"This title is abolished except as to present incumbents. "; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Civil Service Rules be further amended
in Section 3. B by inserting the tit].e of Computer Operator--Library in Grade
22; and be it
FINALLY RESOLVED, that the Civil Service Rules be further amended
in Section 32 by striking out the class specification for Tabulating Machine
Operator II ar�by inserting, in proper alphabetical order, the attached class
specification for the new title of Computer Operator--Library.

General Statement of Duties: Performs skilled clerical work scheduling
and operating the computer system in the Library�s Data Processing
Center; and performs related duties as required.
Supervision Received: Works under the general supervision of a unit
supervisor.
Supervision Exercised: Exercises technical supervision over lower level
or part-time employees assigned to operate the computer.
TYPICAL DUTIES PERFORMED

Determines priority and schedules computer workflow; confers with user
units concerning special needs.
Selects and loads correct programs and processes them into computer; pre-
pares tapes, discs and cards for input.
Monitors computer operation, makes test runs and locates and corrects errors.
Reports machine and program malfunctions.
Maintains proper storage of programs and input and output data.
Orders and monitors computer supplies. Maintains contact with vendors to
insure prompt delivery and correct billing.
Operates data entry equipment, sorters, scanners and related data pro-
cessing equipment.
Assigns and reviews work of other clerical employees assigned to operate
the computer, including the second shift; trains new employees in com-
puter operation.
Maintains operating records and prepares reports as requested.
May make simple modifications and ad�ustments in programs as needed to
complete assignments.
May assist with documentation.
Supervises the Library Data Process�.ng Center in the absence of the Unit
