WHEREAS, pursuant to Minnesota Statutes Section 204C.36,
David Thune, unsuccessful candidate for election from District 2
to the City Council of the City of St. Paul, requested on May
6, 1982 a recount of the votes cast for election to that office;
and
WHEREAS, such recount was held on Ma.y 10, 1982 with the
following results :
Candidate Jim Scheibel' s original total number of
votes decreased from 4,145 to 4,144; and
Candidate Da.vid Thune' s original total number of
votes increased from 4,119 to 4, 121;
and
WHEREAS, it appears from said recount that Jim Scheibel
received more votes than did David Thune for the office of
councilperson from District 2; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that Jim Scheibel be and is declared elected to
the office as designated above and the City Clerk is hereby
instructed and directed to notify him of his election and pursuant
to Minnesota Statutes Sections 204C.36 and 205.14, to issue and
deliver to him the proper certificate of election.
