An Ordinance amending Chapter 60 of the
Saint Paul Legislative Code pertaining to
zoning for the City of Saint Paul and the
zoning maps thereof.
WHEREAS, Pursuant to Minnesota Statutes � 462.357 and � 64 .210
of the Legislative Code, E. T. Hughes Construction, Inc. duly
petitioned to rezone the north 1/2 of Idaho, vacated, which lies
between I-35E and the westerly line, extended, of Lot 16, Block 1,
Kavanagh and Dawson' s Addition to the City of St. Paul, located
between I-35E and Westminster, from B-3 to RM-2 to make it part of
the housing development to the south, the petition having been
certified by the Department of Finance and r4anagement Services on
February 25, 1982 as having been consented to by at least 67� of
the owners of the area of the property to be rezoned, and further
having been consented to by at least two-thirds of the owners of
the property situated within 100 feet of the total contiguous
; descriptions of real estate held by the same owner or any party
purchasing any such contiguous property within one year preceding
the date of the petition; and
WHEREAS, The current Zoning Committee on March 18, 1982
conducted a public hearing for the purpose of considering the
rezoning petition, and pursuant to Section 107.03 of the Admini-
strative Code, sub�nitted its recommendation to the Planning Com-
mission that the petition be granted; and
WHEREAS, The Planning Commission cansidered the rezoning
petition at its meeting held on l+Zarch 26, 1982 and reco�nmended
that the City Council approve the petition; and
WHEREAS, Notice of a public hearing before the City Council
on the said rezoning petition was duly published in the official

Dear Sir:
On March 18, 1982, the Zoning Committee of the Planning Commission held a
public hearing on this rezoning. The petitioner was present to answer
questions. There was no testimony. District 5 sent a letter of support
conditioned on the understanding that this would not result in a revised
site plan for the housing development. At the close of the hearing, the
Zoning Committee voted 6 to 0 to approve the rezoning, with one abstention.
On March 26, 1982, the Planning Commission considered the Zoning Committee's
recommendation and approved the rezoning by a vote of 15 to 0.
The rezoning is scheduled to be heard by the City Council on April 15, 1982.
Please notify me by April 14 if any member of the City Council wishes to
have slides of the site presented at the City Council public hearing.
