RE: Claim against the City of Saint Paul
by James Keenan
On Ma.rch 3, 1977, 63 year old James Keenan was walking in the
vicinity of Grand Avenue and West Seventh Street. It was the
first day of a snow emergency and when he approached the cross-
walk he slipped on a mound of snow. It was his allegation that
this mound of snow had been negligently thrown onto the sidewalk
by snowplows . He further alleged that La.rry Brenna.n's bar was
negligent in the manner in which they tried to remove that snow.
As a result of his fall he broke his leg. His medical expenses
were $4,700 and he claims an additional $2,000 in wage loss.
Prior to the case being set for trial Mr. Keenan settled with
Larry Brennan's bar for $2,000. We have now agreed to pay him
$250 in settlement of this case.
