WHEREA5, The Council of the City of Saint Paul did convey the
vacated City Market site to the Housing and Redevelopment Authority to
allow for the private development of said site; and
WHEREAS, as part of the vacation of the City Market site, the
City intended that the City Market be relocated at a new site which
would allow for the continued operation and prosperity of the City
Market functions; and
WHEREAS, the Staff for the Department of Economic Development has
recommended a new City Market site bounded by Fourth and Broadway
Streets in which the Housing and Redevelopment Authority acquired from
Gillette Company; and
WHEREAS, the Housing and Redevelopment Authority and the City of
5aint Paul are desirous of having the property at this new site con-
veyed to the City.
NOW THEREFORE BE Ii RESOLVED, That the proper City officials are
hereby authorized and directed to receive on behalf of the City from
the Housing and Redevelopment Authority deed to property described as
follows:
That tract of land bounded by Fourth 5t. , Broadway St. ,
Fifth 5t. and Wall 5t. , 5t. Paul, Minn. , legally described
as: Lots 1 through 6, Block 13, Whitney and Smith' s Addition
and that portion of Kittson' s Addition adjacent thereto and
lying between said Lots 1 thru 6 and Broadway St. and between
Fourth Street and Fifth Street.
ALSO RESOLVED, that said deed shall be approved by the City Attorney,
and upon said approval shall be promptly filed with the appropriate
office of recordation in and for Ramsey County.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Chapter 11 of the Saint Paul
Legislative Code shall be amended to reflect this new location in
addition to reflecting other amendments which are deemed appropriate.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that upon receipt of the ownership of said
property the proper City officials are hereby authorized to enter into
agreements leasing and subleasing the site provided that the property
be used as provided in Chapter 11 of the 5aint Paul Legislative Code.
