1 WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Police Department has entered into an agreement with District 6 Planning
2 Council to provide services at the East Consolidated Weed and Seed program site from March 1, 2000
3 through October 31, 2000.

THIS AGREEMENT is made and �tered 'mto this first day of March 2000, by and between
DISTTtICT 6 PLANNING COL7NCII., located at 1061 Rice Street, Saint Paul, MN 55117, hereinafter
railed "DISTRICT 6" and SAINT PAIJL POLTCE DEPART'MENT whose address is 101 East 11'� Street,
Saint Paui, MN 55101, hereinafter called "POLICE".
WITNESSETH:
In consideration of tYe mutuai t�ms and conditions, promises, covenams, and payments
hereinafter set forth, DISTRICT 6 and POLICE agree as follows:
SEC1`ION 1. Scoae of Services. The POLICE agree to provide project coordination of Police
Department issues, and any related services, above and beyond the regulaz scope of duty, to the East
Consolidated Weed and Sced site, as recognized and defined in the grant awazded by the State of
Minnesota. Such services shall include, but not be limited to; attendance at East C�solidated Wced and
Seed Steering Cammittee meetings whevever possible; sufficient staff and/or overtime hours to increase
POLICE presence, good faith efforts towazd strengthened police/community relations, and works towazd
improved community quality of life, as permitted by funds ailowed.
The POLICE wi11 be responsible for formulat'vag progress reparts, gathering staristics for
evaluations� and/or other information necessary to assess accomp]ishment of the scope of the project
strategy as it pertains to the work of the POLICE, and/or as a condition of the grant awazd.
SECITOAF 2. Time for Comoletion. The services rendered by the POLICE shall commence on
Mazch 1, 2000 and be csmpleted on October 31, 2000. The POLICE shall consult with or report to the
Weed and Seecl coordinator and/or members of the Steering Committee as needed to ensise forward
progxess af the Weed and Seed strategy.
SECITON 3. Cl�snees in Scope of Services. The EAST CONSOLIDATED STEERING
COMbIITTEE or the POLICE may request changes that would increase, decrease, or otherwise modify the
"Scope of Services". DISTRICT 6 must be informed in advance of such changes.
SECTION 4. Billines and Pavment That far the faithful performance of the POLICE fo this
AGREEMENT, DISTRICT 6 hereby agrees to reimb�use the POLICE up to $11,410.00 for services
rendered. Upon receipt a£the invoice and verification of the chazges, payment shall be made by
DISTRICT 6 to the POLICE -within thirty (30) days.
SECITON 5. Discriminafian Palitv. At all times, fhe POLICE shall abide by Chapter 183 0£
the Sainf Paul Legislafive Code in any personnel related policies.
SEC1'ION 6. Terwinatian. Either pazty to this AGREEMENT may terminate iY by giving no
less than ehirty (30) days wricten notice, unless otherwise agreed by bofh parties, of the intent to tetminate
to the ofher party. In the event of termination, the POLICE will be reimbursed by DISTRICT 6€or all
services actually, timely, and faithfvlly read�ed up to the receipY o€the notice of termination and tha'eafter
until #he date of termination.
SECTION 7. Indeoendent Contractor Statas. The POLICE are at all fiimes haea�er an
independent conteactor and shall save and hold harmless DISTRICT 6 from any claim azising out of its
hiring, supervision, and performance hereunder.
SEC1'ION & Amendment of A¢reement This AGREEMENT may be amended by further
mutual written agreement of the parties thereto.

less than ehirty (30) days wricten notice, unless otherwise agreed by bofh parties, of the intent to tetminate
to the ofher party. In the event of termination, the POLICE will be reimbursed by DISTRICT 6€or all
services actually, timely, and faithfvlly read�ed up to the receipY o€the notice of termination and tha'eafter
until #he date of termination.
SECTION 7. Indeoendent Contractor Statas. The POLICE are at all fiimes haea�er an
independent conteactor and shall save and hold harmless DISTRICT 6 from any claim azising out of its
hiring, supervision, and performance hereunder.
SEC1'ION & Amendment of A¢reement This AGREEMENT may be amended by further
mutual written agreement of the parties thereto.
