Under supervision, to drive, maintain, and operate a fire engine
or truck; and to perform related work as assi ned. I'

Examples of work perfonned:
To drive a pumping engine, ladder truck, emergency squad, or
emergency ambulance to and from fires or other emergences.
- To place and secure apparatus at a fire, and to change the I
location of apparatus as directed.
To operate the pumping engine.
To operate aerial ladder and snorkels.
To keep the apparatus supplied with water, gasoline and oil.
To make working tests of apparatus when so directed.
To report any necessary repairs to superiors in order to
maintain the apparatus ia efficient operating condition. �
To operate the heating plant in fire stations. ;
After completing operations, to assist in returning the apparatus �
to service as quickly as possible by picking up hose, equip�nent, `
etc. �
Minimum qualifications: �
High school graduation and three years' experience in the position
and holding the title of Fire Fighter in the St. Paul Fire
Department. Must have a valid Minnesota Class B drivers' license.
Fire Fighters employed after January 1, 1979 must have completed
Journeyman apprenticeship program.
