RESOLVED, that the Civil Service Rule s be amended in Section 3.D,
Ungraded, by striking out the titJ.e of Traffic Signman and by substituti.ng in
lieu thereof the title of Traffic Sign Worker; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Civil Se rvice Rule s be furthe r amended
by striking from Secti.on 32 the class specification for the title of Traffic
Signman and by inserting, in proper alphabeti.cal order, the attached class

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
General Statement of Duties: Performs unskilled manual work in the
installation, maintenance and repair of traffic signs, sign posts
and traffic control markings; and performs related duties as required.
Supervision Received: Works under the immediate technical and adminis-
trative supervision of a unit supervisor.
Supervision Exercised: None
TYPICAL DUTIES PERFORMID
The listed examples may not include all duties performed by all positions in
this class.
Installs posts for traffic signs and attaches traffic signs.
Washes, refurbishes, removes and replaces traffic signs and sign posts.
Assembles, installs and replaces street signs.
Sets and removes traffic barricades. �
Assists in painting traffic control street markings.
KNOWLIDGES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES `
Working ability to perform manual labor for extended periods in a variety
of unfavorable weather conditions.
Working ability to follow simple oral and written instructions, maps and
• handbooks.
Working knawledge of the Manual on IIniform Traffic Control Devices in order
to make compliance decisions in the field.
Workiug knowledge of safety procedures involved in working in heavy traffic.
Working skill in the safe operation of simple hand and power tools.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Ttao years' experience as a Utilityman I or equivalent, including one year's
