WHEREAS, the 1982-1983 Hill-Murray High School Hockey Team, coached
by Mr. Terry Skrypek and his assistant, Mr. William Lechner, set the
following goals for their hockey season:
1) Win the City of Saint Paul Conference Championship
2) Win the Twin Cities Championship
3) Win the Section Three Regional Championship
4) Win the Minnesota State High School Championship,
and
WHEREAS, the Pioneer Hockey Team worked hard all season long to
develop a strong spirit of pride . . one based on discipline, sacrafice,
skill, teamwork, performance and Christian spirit, and
`vdHEREAS, the Pioneers entered the Thirty-Ninth Annual Minnesota
State High School Hockey Tournament as the No. 1 ranked team in the state
with a record of 25 wins and no losses or ties, and
WHEREAS, the Pioneer Hockey Team appreciates the support their parents ,
coaches , teachers , cheerleaders , school band, fellow students and
thousands of fans provided throughout their outstanding season, and
WHEREAS, the Hill-Murray Hockey Team won the 1983 Minnesota State
High School Hockey Championship on March 12, 1983 by demonstrating a
united spirit of pride, poise, skill and sportsmanship;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of
Saint Paul, upon the advice of the many Hill-Murray hockey fans living
in Saint Paul, and the recommendation of Mayor George Latimer, congrat-
ulates the Pioneer Hockey Team, Coach Skrypek, Mr. Lechner, Athletic
Director, Brother Francis Carr, and school principal, Frank Asenbrenner
for ending the hockey season with a perfect record of 28 victories , and

Team be recognized as the 1983 State High School Hockey Champions - --
because the Pioneers "ICED IT" ,
AND BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED, that the Pioneer Hockey Team be
reauested to march in a place of honor at the front of the Saint
Patrick' s Day Parade, with a banner reading :
