279945 N�HITE - CITV CLERK � PINK - FINANCE CITY OF SAINT PALTL Council CANARV - DEPARTMENT File NO. 2'79 45 BLUE - MAVOR � Co ncil Re uti n Presented By . � ' ?,' ���:� �"� Referred To Committee: Date Out of Committee By Date WHEREAS, the St. Paul Civic Center will be the site of the Thirty-ninth Annual Minnesota State High School Hockey Tournament to be played on March 10-11-12, 1983 ; WHEREAS, the competing schools will be champions represent- ing Section 1 - Burnsville , Section 2 - Columbia Heights, Section 3 - Hill-Murray, Section 4 - Henry Sibley, Section 5 - Kennedy, Section 6 - Edina, Section 7 - International Falls , and Section 8 - Roseau; WHEREAS, No. 1 ranked Hill-Murray, the St. Paul Conference winner, Twin City Champions and Section 3 Champions will go into the tournament as the only undefeated team with a perfect record of 25-0 under the direction of head coach, Terry Skrypek; WHEREAS, the St. Paul City Council commends the coaches for their leadership and direction, the players for their team play throughout the regular season and sectionals ; NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Saint Paul and the business and community leaders do hereby proclaim March 10, 1983 as "High School Hockey Day" in St. Paul , Hockey Capitol U. S.A. ; AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Hill-Murray Pioneers be encouraged to continue their excellent hockey play, and emerge as champions as they represent St. Paul, and with a united spirit of pride and sportsmanship return to the East Side community Champions of the 1983 State High School Hockey Tournament.
