RESOLVED, that the Salary Plan and Rate s of Compensation Re solution
be amended in SectionJ:� thereof, by inserting immediately after Subsection L,
the following:
"M The compensati.on for the class of Custodial Worker in Secti.on
3. C of the Civil Service Rules shall be as follows:
Start After 6 months After 1 year After 2 years

Our Affirmative Action Recruiter requested a new specification �vhich would
allowher to place handicapped workers in custodial titles.
She discussed her proposal with Larry Kasella, Business Agent for Custodial
Engineers, and he agreed that a lower salary rate would be acceptable. The
wage listed is $1. 00 per hour less than that received by the Custodian. It is
our intention that once the incumbents have the i r requi site time in for promotion
rights they will be promoted to the regular title. '
The abolition of Service Worker is only peripherally related to the above. We
rarely use Service Worker because of the low salary. We see no need to keep
it on the books.
