WHEREAS, Baseball is America's favorite pastime and an All American
sport; and
WHEREAS, All athletics encourage a spirit of cooperation, competition, and
team pl ay; and
WHEREAS, the Lexington-Hamline area Dunning Juniors Baseball team partici-
pated in and recently won the championship of the Saint Paul P�unicipal Juniors
Baseball League; and
WHEREAS, said team of fifteen 14 and 15 year olds concluded their season in
fifth place with a 5-5 record and entered their first St. Paul Municipal Baseball
playoff August 8-12, 1983, and outscored their opponents by a count of 25-5; and
WHEREAS, said team sponsored by Liberty State Bank and coached by Rick
Rangel , Mark McDonough and Jim Kelly is recognized as the most improved team in
the league; now therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the City of Saint Paul hereby awards praise and honor to
each and every member of the team; and be it further
RESOLVED, That the City Council extends its heartfelt thanks to the team
for their St. Paul spirit and wishes them the best of luck in future competitions.
