WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the
City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation
total revenues in excess of those estimated in the 1983 budget; and
WHEREAS, Council File 277510, adopted October 1, 1981, did establish
certain Special Fund policies; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor recommends that the following additions be made to the
1983 budget:

What Will be Achieved by Taking Action on the Attached Materials? (Purpose/Rationale):
Due to budget limitations for the past couple of years the parking enforcement
program, financed from the General Fund, has not been able to replace its Cushman Police
vehicles. As a result, the maintenance costs for the existing vehicles has been increasing
substantislly esch year.
The use of the Parking and Transit funds will allow the purchaae of two vehicles
this year.

1983 Budget amendment to increase spending in the Parking and Transit Fund in the
amount of $12,806 with financing from the existing fund balance.
