On July 6, 1982, Independent School Board No. 625 declared the Hartzell School site surplus, and asked the City of Saint Paul to determine its interest in acquiring the site for public reuse or private redevelopment. B. The Department of Planning and Economic Development has been working with District 8 residents as a task force committee and has recommended acquisition of the site for private housing redevelopment. C. The Planning Commission has found the proposed private housing redevelopment conslstent with the adopted policies of the Comprehensive Plan. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT: 1. Private housing redevelopment of the Hartzell site adheres to the City's Comprehensive Plan and will add needed housing to the City. 2. The Department of Planning and Economic Development, under the entity of HRA, is hereby authorized to submit the City's housing reuse for this site to the School Board for their acceptance.
