'Mt\ !•• BL!JE - MAVOR oun il Resolution Presented By � � � � Referred To Committee: Date Out of Committee By Date RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL, MINNESOTA APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF AN APPLICATION FOR A FEDERAL GRANT UNDER PUBLIC LAW 89-136 (PUBLIC WORKS & ECONOMIC DEVELOPP�ENT ACT OF 1965) FOR THE HOMEGROWN ECONOMY PROGRAM WHEREAS, there is a need to increase funding available to establish Saint Paul ' s Homegrown Economy Program, and WHEREAS, the City is eligible for a federal grant under Public Law 89-136, the Public Works & Economic Development Act of 1965, for technical assistance to develoo the Homegrown Economy Program, and WHEREAS, the Midwestern Regional Office of the U.S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration, has requested that the City submit an application based upon the Administration' s favorable review of the preliminary proposal for the Homegrown Economy Program; now therefore, be it RESOLVED, that upon the recommendation of the Mayor, the Council of the City of Saint Paul does hereby approve the filing of an application for $80,000 in federal assistance to provide technical assistance for the establishment of the City' s Homegrown Economy Program, and be it FURTHER RESOLVED, that Mayor George Latimer, as Chief Executive Officer of the City of Saint Paul , is hereby authorized and directed to submit said application for federal grant assistance to the U.S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration, in such form as prescribed by the regulations of the Administration, and be it FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor or his designated representative is further authorized to execute and submit to the U.S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration, any assurances, certification, or additional information that may be required by said Administration during its review of the City's application for an EDA federal grant and that the proper officers of the City are hereby authorized to execute whatever contracts are required in order to enter into COUNCILMEN Yeas Nays Requested by Department of: Fletcher PED Business Revital i Levine In Favor Masanz ` /����� � La� NiCOSia ivL scneibei __ Against BY Tedesco W ilson Form Approv City Attqtney, Adopted by Council: Date / / --��i Certified Passed by Council Secretary BY � B}, � • /\pproved by Mavor.
