Performs skilled mechanical work when necessary to alleviate work load or
to provide special expertise to a job.

Re: Vehicle Mechanic Supervisor
The present minimum qualifications for Vehicle Mechanic Supervisor require
"three years of experience as a Vehicle Mechanic or equivalent. "
We scheduled an examination for Vehicle Mechanic Supe rvisor. At that point
we received requests from Ron Mundahl, Municipal Garage Supe rvisor and
Ralph Stolp, F'irema.n-Mechanic General Foreman requesting that the minimum
qualifications for Vehicle Mechanic Supervisor be reconsidered.
The Minimum Qualification Committee recommended that the minimum qualifications
for this classification be broadened to include experience as a.n Auto Body R.epair-
man or equivalent, and expe rience as a Welde r involving fabricating parts for
vehicles and heavy equipment.
We cancelled the examination for Vehicle Mechanic Supervisor and will reschedule
it when the revised minimum qualifications become effective.
There are two additional city employees who will be qualified to take the examin-
ation under the revised minimum qualifications.

Re: Vehicle Me chanic Supe rvi sor
The present minimum qualifications for Vehicle Mechanic Supervisor require
"three years of experience as a Vehicle Mechanic or equivalent. "
We scheduled an examination for Vehicle Mechanic Supervisor. At that point
we received requests from Ron Mundahl, Municipal Garage Supe rvisor and
Ralph Stolp, Fireman-Mechanic General Foreman requesting that the minimum
qualifications for Vehicle Mechanic Supervisor be reconsidered.
The Minimum Qualification Committee recommended that the minimum qualifications
for this classification be broadened to include experience as an Auto Body Repair-
man or equivalent, and expe rience as a Welde r involving fabricating parts for
vehicle s and heavy equipment.
We cancelled the examination for Vehicle Mechanic Supervisor and will reschedule
it when the revised minimum qualifications become effective.
There are two additional city employees who will be qualified to take the examin-
ation under the revised minimum qualifications.
