WHEREAS, Jeffrey G. Stephenson, as Assistant City Attorney,
was assigned to represent the City' s interests in the case of
Shelly Ann Woller, a minor, by her father and natural guardian,
Robert Woller, and Robert Woller individually vs. The City of
Saint Paul, John J. 0'Brien, Richard Fillmore, Nancy Jalene Lunzer
and Donald David Lunzer and all related cases arising out of a
collision between a St. Paul squad car occupied by Officers Richard
Fillmore and John J. 0'Brien and an automobile occupied by Shelly
Woller, La.ura La.ine and Thoma.s Lunzer on April 16, 1981; and
WHEREAS, Jeffrey G. Stephenson is familiar with the intricate
details of this complex litigation; and
WHEREAS; Jeffrey G. Stephenson resigned from ti�e staff of the
City Attorney s Office effective June 9, 1983 and joined the firm
of Petersen, Tews and Squires, but that law firm has agreed to
complete said litigation despite Jeffrey G. Stephenson no longer
being on the payroll of the City of Saint Paul; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, By virtue of the aforesaid special and unusual
circumstances, the law firm of Peterson, Tews and Squires is hereby
appointed as special counsel, pursuant to Chapter 3.04 of the
St. Paul Administrative Code, to assist the City Attorney in the
preparation for trial and trial of the case of Woller vs. City of
St. Paul, et al. and all related cases at the rate of $75.00 per
hour until the completion of said litigation.
