WHEREAS, Saint Agnes School , celebrating nearly a century of educating the
children of our Saint Paul Community is recognized as having been one of the largest
parochial schools in the City; and the FIRST co-educational high school in the City
of Saint Paul ; and
WHEREAS, Saint Agnes is one of only two schools in the entire city offering
thirteen complete years of education, grades kindergarten thru twelve; and
WHEREAS, Saint Paul founder names such as Pohl , Maurer, Rossini , Poidinger,
Gillen, Tschida, Miller, Thill , Saiko, Selbitschka, Merth, Luedtke, Jung, Haag, and
Kammerer are found in the enrollment records and are of 2nd, 3rd, and 4th generations
presently attending Saint Agnes; and
lJHEREAS, Saint Agnes, located at Thomas and Kent Streets, Saint Paul , is at
� the center of Frogtown. Its towering spire of the Church is a landmark of the City; and
WHEREAS, Monsignor !?i�hard J. Schuler, Pastor of Saint Agnes , and his l�ssistant,
Reverend Michael Ince, Williari �a. Peper, Principal of the High School , Robert Ercolani ,
Principal of the Grade Sc{�ool , and the �,iumni Association of Saint Agnes invite all to
celebrate this festive occasion of an ALL-CLASSES REUNION on SATURDAY, the 9th of JULY; and
NOW, THEREFORE, �E IT RESOLI►E�, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul
recognizes the significant contribution of Saint Agnes and its school to the City of
Saint Paul ; and
BE IT FURTHEl� �ESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul designate
JULY 9, 1983, as SAINT AGNES ALL-CLASSES REUNION DAY in Saint Paul and encourage the
people of Saint Paul to observe this celebration by attending the 12 NOON SCHOOL OPEN
HOUSE and an ALUMNI MASS in Saint Agnes Church at 4:00 p.m.
