WHEREAS, Leonard "Bucky" Olson was the most well known tennis teacher
and pro in the City of Saint Paul for many years, and
WHEREAS, Bucky Olson contributed a great deal of his time and energy
to work with children at the public courts in St. Paul , and
WHEREAS, Bucky Olson devoted himself to the tennis program at
Dunning Recreation Center and particularly to the children who played
there, and
WHEREAS, The Lexington-Hamline Community Council and many residents
of St. Paul have determined that this would be a fitting way to honor
Bucky Olson and his contributions to tennis in St. Paul ; now, therefore,
be i t
RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Saint Paul , that the tennis
courts located at Dunning Recreation Center be officially named the
"Bucky Olson Memorial Courts" in honor of his many contributions to the
field of tennis and particularly the youth of St. Paul .
