1 WF�EREAS,theDivisionofPazksandRecreationhasoperatedWatergateManna,locatedat25�OCrosbyFannRoad,since
2 the late 1970's; and
3 WHEREAS, the City has received two private sector proposals and an employee performance plan for the operation and
4 management of Watergate Marina; and
5 WHEREAS, upon review of the proposals submitted to the City and the performance plan prepazed by City staff, it has been
6 determined that it is not in the best interests of the City to pursue any of the plans for implementation for the 2000 boating
7 season; and
8 WHEREAS, the City sees the Marina as an asset on the Mississippi River; and
9 WHEREAS, the City presently has an agreement with the Saint Paul Yacht Club for the management and operafion of the
10 Harriet Island Marina; and
11 WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Yacht Club has the resources to also operate and manage the Watergate Marina; now, therefore,
12 be it
13 RESOLVED, that the requirements of C.F. No. 99-694 aze hereby waived for one year, and the Division of Parks and
14 Recreation is hereby authorized to amend its agreement with the Saint Paul Yacht Club to include the SaintPaul Yacht Club's
15 operarion and managaement of the Watergate Marina or to enter into an agreement with another vendor, for a period not to
16 exceed one year from the date of passage of this resolurion, such amendment or new agreement to fust be authorized by the
17 Council; and, be it
18 FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Division of Parks and Recrearion is hereby requested to develop on or before September
19 1, 2000, a plan for the future management and operation of the Watergate Marina, which shall address potenfial public or
20 private operation and management of the Watergate Marina.
