RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION AMENDMENT TO THE ECONOMIC
DEVELOPMENT ADMINISTRATION FOR CONTINUATION OF PLANNING ASSISTANCE GRANT
6dEREAS, the City of Saint Paul has received funding from the U. S. Economic
Development Administration since June 1980 under Title 302a of the EDA
Planning Assistance Grant Program; and
WHEREAS, said funding has been used by the Department of Planning and Economic
Development for a portion of staff costs of the nationally renowned Neighborhood
Business Revitalization Program; and
WHEREAS, the City continues to be eligible for EDA Planning Assistance under
Title 302a; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Pau1 does hereby a pprove the
filing of an Application for a Continuation of the Planning Assistance Grant
i n the amou nt of $33 ,318.00; a nd be i t
FURTHER RESOLVED, that Mayor George Latimer, as Chief Executive Officer of
the City of Saint Paul , is hereby authorized and directed to submit said
Application to the U.S. Economic Development Administration in such form as
prescribed by the regulations of said Administration, and to execute and submit
to said Administration any assurances, certifications, or additional information
that may be required by said Administration during their review of the Application.

Your Section 302 (a) economic development planning grant has an
expiration date of March 31, 1983 . EDA has received authority
to process amendments necessary to allow for a full year of
funding during FY 1983. These amendments will extend the
expiration of your grant for a nine month period. The maximum
amount of grant assistance for which you are eligible to apply
is $ 33,318 , which requires a minimum local match of $ 11,106 •
.
Enclosed are materials for your use in applying for this grant
amendment. Please follow the instructions carefully and return
these materials by April 30� in order that your request may-be----
processed promptly. ie �completed materials may be returned to
me at the Economic Development Administration, Room 7866,
Department of Commerce, Washington, D. C. 20230. Any questions
you may have regarding this amendment should be directed to your
program officer at 202-377-3027 .
As in the past, all proposed grant awards must be cleared by the
Department of Commerce' s Financial Assistance Review Board. If
your particular government unit, the city or the state, has debts
owed to the Federal government or has unresolved audits from
previous Department of Commerce grants , your request for additional
planning grant assistance may be delayed or denied.
