An administrative Resolution establishing the

Operations Assistant-Library in the Civil
Service Rules.
Resolved, that the Civil Service Rules be amended in Section 3.B,
by inserting the title of Computer Operations Assistant-Library in
Grade 16; and be it
Further Resolved, that the Civil Service Rules be further amended
in Section 32 by inserting, in proper alphabetical order, the attached
class specification for Computer Operations Assistant-Library.

General Statemen� ef Duties: Performs clerical G�ork operating the
computer system in the Library's Data Processing Center; performs �
clerical work ogerating keypunching macY:ines or entering coded data
into a computer; and performs related duties as required. �
Supervision Received: Works under the general supervision of a unit
supervisor.
Supervision Exercised: �Iay exercise technical supervision over part-
t�me employees assigned to operate the computer in the absence of
the supervisor or lead operator.
T'YPICAL DUTIES PERFORI�IED
The listed examples may not include all duties perfor�ed by all positions
in this class.
Selects and loads correct programs and processes them into computer;
prepares tapes, discs and cards for input.
Monitors computer operation, makes test runs and locates and correets
errors.
Reports machine and program tnalfunctions.
Ma.intains proper storage of programs and input and output data.
Operates data entry equipment, sorters, scanners and related data
processing equipment.
Assists with the maintenance of operating records and the preparation
of reports as requested.
May make simple modifications and adjustments in programs as needed to
complete assignments.
May assist with documentation.
KNOWLIDGES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Some knowledge of the operation of data processing equipMent.
Some knowledge of data processing operation procedures and language.
Working ability to plan and organize work.
