WHEREAS, The St. Paul Board of Appeals and Review has requested
the City Council to clarify the definition of a "story"; and
WHEREAS, The Minnesota Uniform Fire Code is silent on this
definition; and
WHEREAS, The State Fire Marshal uses the Uniform Building Code
definition of "story"; and ,

RESOLVED, That the City Council concurs with the State Fire
Marshal and designates the Uniform Building Code definition of "story"
(attached) to be the applicable definition for code enforcement.
* WEIEREAS, The City Attorney has concurred with the State Fire
