Supervisor--Civic Center in the Civil Service Rules.
RESOLVED, that the Civil Service Rules be amended in Section 3.H, Ungraded, by
inserting the title of Night Custodial Supervisor--Civic Center; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Civil Service Rules be further amended in Section 32
by inserting, in proper alphabetical order, the attached class specification for
Night Custodial Supervisor--Civic Center.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
General Statement of Duties: Supervises and participates in the care and
cleaning of the Civic Center Complex; supervises the setup of various
equipment and apparatus needed in conjunction with the various events
held in the Civic Center Complex; and performs related work as assigned.
Supervision Received: Works under the general administrative direction of
a division or department head.
Supervision Exercised: Exercises immediate or close technical supervision over
custodial personnel in the Civic Center Complex.
TYPICAL DUTIES PERFORMED
The listed examples may not include all duties performed by all positions in
this class.
Supervises and performs the work involved in the general maintenance and
custodial care of the Civic Center Complex and surrounding grounds.
Supervises and performs the work involved in setting up or taking down
bleachers, risers, hockey dasher boards, boxing and wrestling setups,
basketball courts, tables, chairs, ticket booths, portable stands, ice
floor cover, and other related items and equipment.
Arranges for equipment as required for the various events.
Supervises the operation of the forklifts, mechanical sweepers, scrubbers,
electric tractors, dolleys and other related equipment used in the Civic
Complex operation.
Makes reports and recommendations to the Operation Director's office.
KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Considerable knowledge of inethods, materials and equipment used in utilizing
the various facilities of the Civic Center Complex and in providing
custodial services to the building.
Working ability to deal tactfully and effectively with custodial staff.
Working ability to plan, organize and delegate work.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Three years' experience as a custodian or custodian engineer.
