WHEREAS, Thomas J. Kelley has demonstrated both a personal and a
professional interest in the development of the Mississippi River as a
recreational resource for the City and its residents; and
WHEREAS, during his service with the City, Mr. Kelley has been
actively involved in the development of 18 miles of regional parkland
along the riverfront; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Kelley's interest in the river has spanned more than
45 years with more than 22 years of public service to Ramsey County and
the City of Saint Paul ; and
WHEREAS, the St. Paul City Council wishes to recognize Thomas J.
Kelley's active and continued dedication to preserving the City's
riverfront for present and future generations, now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the St. Paul City Council does hereby rename the
boat launch at the west end of Harriet Island Regional Park, "Kelley's
Landing" .
