RESOLVED, That the proper City officials are hereby authorized and directed
to execute a Lease Agreement with Independent School District No. 625 providing
for the lease of portions of the City's Valley Recreation Center, 690 Jackson
Street, subject to the terms and conditions set forth therein, a copy of said
Lease to be kept on file and of record with the Department of Finance and Manage-
ment Services.

LEASE AGP,EEMENT
THIS AGREEP�ENT, made and entered into this day of
, 1984 by and between the CITY OF SAINT PAUL, P�1INNESOTA,
hereinafter referred to as "City." and INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT N0. 625,
hereinafter referred to as "District," for the lease of portions of the City's
Valley Recreation Center, 690 Jackson Street, Saint Paul , Minnesota, hereinafter
referred to as "Faci 1 i ty" �
bJITNESSETH:
IT IS MUTUALLY AGREED BY AND fETWEEN THE CITY AND DISTRICT AS FOLLOWS:
1 . That the City hereby leases to the District the following areas for
the District's "Education and Physical Education" program:
a. gymnasium
b. lounge
c. skating room
d. outside field area
2. That the City also hereby leases to the District the use of the
kitchen located in the Facility upon twenty-four (24) hours prior
notice directed by the District to the City's Superintendent of
Parks and Recreation.
3. If additional hours of use are needed for any part of the City's
building or grounds , a written notice must be given seven (7) days
prior to such need by the School Principal with both parties mutually
agreeing to the change in hours .
4. That the City will provide for all custodial , heat, water, and
electrical services to therFacility, including the area subject to
this lease during the term hereof.
5. The District's Building• Principal or his designee shall provide full
time supervision for all school programs at all times . Said Building
Principal or his designee shall be responsbile for surveying the

condition of the building and outside area each day prior to
commencing with the District's program or programs and shall
identify and report to the Recreation Director on a daily basis
any and all damage to said building, grounds, or equipment which
occurs while said facility is under their control or use.
7. That the District will at alltimes retain direct possession of
and control of the keys to the Facility, and said keys shall not
be loaned or given to any person other than a bonafide District
employee or agent.
8. Al1 parties shall abide by all such rules and regulations mutually
agreed on and established by either party or by governmental
regulations current and future to insure safe, sanitary fire and
health protection to all persons .
9. That any alterations of the leased portions of the Facility shall
only be performed with the prior approval of the City's Superintendent
of Parks and P,ecreation, and said alterations shall then be performed
under his direction and control .
10. That the District will save and hold harmless the City from any and
• all claims of whatever kind or nature that may arise out of it, its
staff, or students ' participation in the District's programs and
events at the Facility and as such claims may be occasioned by the
negligent acts or omissions of the District or its staff or agents .
11 . That the term of this lease shall be from Sept.l , 198� to June10, 1985
7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. , ��londay through Friday, during the regularly

established s�c�hool year. The District shall have the right to
extend the term of lease for an additional year.

12. That in consideration of the lease herein granted to the District,
the District agrees to pay the rental charge in accordance with the
schedule on file in the office of the Division of Parks and Recreation.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties have set their hands the date first
written above.
