RESOLVED, that upon execution and delivery of a release in
full to the City of Saint Paul, the proper City officers are hereby
authorized and directed to pay out of the Tort Liability Fund
09070-511-000 to Carolanne Marquis and John Marquis, wife and
husband, the sum of $6, 500. 00 in full settlement of their claim
for damages sustained to Carolanne Marquis as a result of an auto-
mobile accident with a City vehicle on October 5, 1981, at or near
the intersection of Lexington and Summit Avenues.

RE; Claim against the City of St. Paul
by Carolanne Marquis
Carolanne Marquis filed a lawsuit against the City of St. Paul
for personal injuries sustained on October 5, 1981, when a City
of St. Paul, Department of Community Services vehicle, driven
by Truman K. Walling rearended her Honda Civic at the intersection
of Lexington and Summit in the City of St. Paul .
Carolanne Marquis claims she suffered a whiplash injury which caused
her lost wages, medical expenses and a permanent 10% disability
of the lumbar spine . The complaint asked for judgment in excess
of $50, 000 .
Carolanne Marquis' claim was investigated by the City Attorney' s
office. A full and final settlement in the amount of $6, 500 has
been agreed to by the parties.
