Supervision Received: Works under the general guidance and direction of a department head. Supervision Exercised: Exercises within the unit general supervision over clerical work and voting machine maintenance work. TYPICAL DUTIES PERFORMED The listed examples may aot include all duties performed by all positions in this class. Supervises the registration of eligible voters and the maiatenance of regis- tration f iles. Determines precinct boundaries and polling places for elections; rents polling places. Prepares ballots, notices, instruction manuals and other election forms and supervises the preparation and distribution of all materials. Recruits, trains, supervises aad evaluates clerical staff aad election judges. Supervises the preparation, maiatenance, distribution aad use of all City voting machines. Supervises the collection, compilation and reporting of election returns. Recommends an annual budget for the unit. Informs voters, caadidates, election �udges, police officers and challengers of the laws, rules and regulations pertaining to their rights and duties for electioas. Assist the City Clerk with Council Proceediags includiag the preparation of agendas, acting as Secretary at City Council meetings, preparation of meeting minutes and related duties. Performs the duties of the City Clerk and be respoasible for the operation of the City Clerk's office in the absence of the City Clerk. KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Working knowledge of the maintenance and operation of voting machiaes. Considerable ability to establish and maintain working relationships with supervisors, elected officials, subordinates aad the general public. Considerable knowledge of election procedures, laws rules and regulations. Considerable knowledge of modern office record keeping methods snd procedures. Considerable knowledge of supervisory methods and procedures. Considerable skill in preparing voting machines for elections. Workiag ability to prepare reports.
