RESOLVED, that the Civil Service Rules be amended ia Sectioa 3.B by striking
out the title of Dog Warden from Grade 24M and by substituting, in lieu thereof, the
title of Animal Coatrol Officer; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Civil Service Rules be further amended by striking
fram Section 32 the class specification for the title of Dog Warden aad substitutiag,
in lieu thereof, the attached class specificatioa for the title of Aaimal Control
Officer.

General Statement of Duties: Performs responsible manual work enforcing�
animal and pest control ordinances; investigates complaints and makes
routine patrols and inspections to determine compliance with St. P'aul
legislative codes dealing with animals; performs related duties as
assigned.
Supervision Received: Woxks under the supervision of the animal control
supervisor.
Supervision Exercised: None
TYPICAL DUTIES PERFORMED
Captures and impounds loose animals, both feral and domestic.
Captures any animal that has bitten.
Imposes and releases animal quarantines.
Advises anima.l owners on methods of achieving compliance with ordinances.
Responds to complaints and iavestigates to determine action to be taken
to gain compliance with city ordiaances or remove possible daager to
public: issues violation tag, warning notices, sets traps and uses
tranquilizer equipment.
Dispenses poisons, baits traps and other areas for the control of pest
animals.
Keeps records and makes reports of complaints and inspections.
KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Workiag knowledge of animal behavior in an urbaa environment.
Working knowledge of animal codes, laws and regulations.
