CLAIMS AGAINST CITY OF SAINT PAUL
BY LINDA L. COX, CITY VIEW MOTEL,
AND WALTER JENSEN
Claimant , Linda L. Cox , requests reimbursement for damage to her
automobile which she incurred on January 25 , 1984 , when she
struck windrow near the intersection of Barclay and Maryland.
The City of Saint Paul , Department of Public Works , was removing
snow from this location. Normally, either a snow loader or a
flasher truck follows the graders . These vehicle have flashing
lights which warns traffic of the work being done in the area.
On the particular date , the snow loaders were still at another
location and the flasher truck stayed with the loaders . A foreman
was following the graders but the flasher lights on his truck
were not working. Ms . Cox came over the crest of the hill on
Maryland at Barclay and drove into the windrow. This office
approves the settlement of Ms . Cox ' s claim in the amount of
$208 .50 .
Claimant , City View Motel , requests reimbursement for damages it
sustained to one of the motel rooms when City of Saint Paul ,
Department of Police, officers tore the room apart looking for
drugs . Mr . Monte A. Brown, owner of the motel , repaired the
damage himself , along with the help of his handyman and wife, and
submitted a very reasonable claim. Mr. Brown is very cooperative
with the Police Department and he should be compensated for the
damages he incurred, This office approves the settlement of the
City View Motel in the amount of $100 .00 .
Claimant, Walter Jensen, requests reimbursement for damaged
clothing which he incurred on February 27, 1984 at the Pig ' s Eye
recycling site . His clothes were sprayed with hydrolic fluid
when he tried to bypass the hydrolic outrigger system on a machine
he was moving for the City of Saint Paul , Department of Community
Services . This office approves the settlement of Mr . Jensen' s
claim in the amount of $236 . 30 .
