RESOLVED, That upon execution and delivery of a release in full
to the City, in a form to be approved by the City Attorney, the
proper City officers are hereby authorized and directed � to pay
out of the Tort Liability Fund 09070-511-000, to:
1 . James Pielemeier and Iowa Kemper Insurance Company the sum of
$792 .31 in full settlement of their claim of damages sustained
on or about October 27, 1983 , as more particularly set out in
the Notice of Claim filed in the City Clerk ' s office on
January 3 , 1984 .
2 ' Bailey Enterprises, Inc. the sum of $77.65 in full settlement
of its claim of damages sustained on or about December 19 ,
1983 , as more particularly set out in the Notice of Claim
filed in the City Clerk ' s office on January 6 , 1984 .
3 . Joseph W. Taney the sum of $284 .60 in full settlement of his
claim of damages sustained on or about January 26 , 1984 , as
more particularly set out in the Notice of Claim filed in the
City Clerk 's office on Feburary 1 , 1984 .
4 . John Tomlinson the sum of $1 , 300.00 in full settlement of his
claim of damages sustained on or about November 7, 1983, as
more particularly set out in the Notice of Claim filed in the
City Clerk ' s office on December 19, 1983 .

M E M O R A N D U M
CLAIMS AGAINST CITY OF SAINT PAUL
BY JAMES PIELEMEIER AND IOWA KEMPER
INSURANCE COMPANY; BAILEY ENTERPRISES,
INC. ; JOSEPH W. TANEY; and JOH[V TOMLINSON
Claimant , James Pielemeier , requests reimbursement for damages to his
vehicle which he incurred when he went over a stretch of streer on
Vandalia between Territorial and Ellis which was under repair . The
City of Saint Paul , Department of Public Works , was repairing the area
and when the crew left for the day they did not replace the flashers
or barricades . Mr . Pielemeier is insured by Iowa Kemper Insurance
Company which has a subrogated interest in this claim . Repairs for
the damage to Mr . Pielemeier ' s are in the amount of $792 . 31 . This
office approves the settlement of Mr . Pielemeier ' s claim in the amount
of $792 .31 .
Claimant , Bailey Enterprises , Inc. , requests reimbursement for damages
whcih were incurred when an awning on a building at 484 Wabasha was
damaged by the City of Saint Paul , Department of Public Works , during
snow removal operations . This office approves the settlement of their
claim in the amount of $77.65 .
Claimant , Joseph W. Taney, seeks reimbursement for damages to his
automobile which he incurred when his parked Ford truck was struck by
a City of Saint Paul , Department of Public Works , vehicle on January 26 ,
1984 at Sylvan and Front . The driver of the City vehicle was Thomas
Corcoran. This office approves the settlement of Mr. Taney' s claim
in the amount of $284 .60 .
Claimant , John Tomlinson, requests reimbursement for expenses he
incurred in the connection of his house to the City sewer line . The
sanitary sewer was constructed in 1980 and the sewer service stub
connection was installed at an elevation such that gravity flow ser-
vice to Mr . Tomlinson ' s residence could not be provided. This office
approves the settlement of Mr . Tomlinson ' s claim in the amount of
$1 , 300 .00 .
