1 WHEREAS, Saint Paul Legislative Code § 376.17(c) requires new applicants for a
2 taxicab driver's license to successfully complete a t�icab driver training course as a prerequisite
3 for licensure; and

5 WHEREAS, § 376.17(d) permits an applicant to obtain a provisional operator license
6 which authorizes the driver to operate until the first available opening in a training ciass, at
7 which time the applicant must enroll in and successfixlly complete the class; and
9 WHEREAS, Alonzo Crenshaw was issued a provisional operator license by the Office of
10 LIEP and was notified of the taxicab driver training course to begin on Angust 7, 2000, but failed
11 to attend and successfully complete the course; and
12
:3 WHEREAS, Alonzo Cranshaw submitted a check for payment af his provisional taxicab
14 driver's license application fee which was returned by the bank because the account had been
i5 closed; THEREFORE, BE IT

17 RESOLVED, that the provisional operator license (license ID # 20000001506) issued to
18 Alonzo Ctenshaw is hereby revoked for failure to enroll in and successfully complete the
19 required tasicab driver training course and far failing to submit proper payment for his
20 provisional taxicab driver's license application fee.

The purpose of this letter is to schedule a public hearing regarding the provisionai tazcicab driver's
license held by Mr. Aionzo Crenshaw for 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, December 6, 2000 in the City
Councii Chambers, Third Floor, Saint Paul City Hall and Ramsey County Courthouse. Official
notice was placed in the Legal Ledger on Thursday, November 16, 2000 in order to norify Mr.
Crenshaw ofthe hearing, since letters sentby both the licensing office and the City Attomey's Office
to the address Mr. Crenshaw provided on his license application have been returned. Enclosed is
the proposed resolution for this matter.
