WHEREAS, the 1984 Capital Improvement Budget and Program, as adopted
by the Saint Paul City Council September 29, 1983, CF 280936, contains an
appropriation of $246,000 in 1984 Capi-tal Improvement Bond funds for the
renovation of Rice Park, and
WHEREAS, the above appropriation has been placed in specified contingency
pending the result of on-going studies to define park and recreation service
levels and the facilities required to provide these levels of service, and
WHEREAS, Rice Park is a park of Citywide significance, an important element
in its downtown neighborhood, and is needed to provide recreation service to
downtown residents, employees and visitors, and
WHEREAS, the Rice Park renovation should be scheduled to coincide with the
completion of the Ordway Theater,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the 1984 Capital Improvement Budget
is hereby amended to release the $246,000 appropriated for the renovation
of Rice Park.
