RESOLVED, That upon execution and delivery of a release in full
to the City, in a form to be approved by the City Attorney, the
proper City officers are hereby authorized and directed to pay
out of the To.rt Liability Fund 09070-511-000, to :
1 . Laverne L. Jones the sum of $254 .00 in full settlement of
his claim of damages sustained on or about December _13 , 1983 ,
as more parti_cularly set out in the Notice of Claim filed in
the City Clerk 's office on January 10, 1984 .
2 . Carl L. Funk III the sum of $400 .00 in full settlement of his
claim of damages sustained on or about January 12 , 1984 , as
more particularly set out in the notice of claim filed with
the City Clerk ' s office on January 23 , 1984 .
3 . Jerome J. Tima the sum of $39 .11 in full settlement of his
claim of damages sustained on or about November 30, 1983 ,
as more particularly set out in the Notice of Claim filed
in the City Clerk ' s office on December 5 , 1983 .

M E M O R A N D U M
CLAIMS AGAINST CTTY OF SAINT PAUL
BY LAVERNE L. JONES, CARL L. FUNK III,
and JEROME J. TIMA
On January 11 , 1980, a pistol was stolen from claimant , Laverne L.
Jones ' , pickup. The gun was recovered by the Saint Paul Police on
April 21 , 1983 . The gun, which was used in an armed robbery, was
held by the Saint Paul Police as a court exhibit . On December 14 ,
1983 , Mr . Jones was notified by Sgt . Gelao, Saint Paul Police Depart-
ment , that the gun was destroyed in error . This office approves the
settlement of Mr. Jones ' claim in the amount of $254 .00 .
Claimant , Carl L. Funk, III, was involved in an automobile accident
with the City of Saint Paul , Department of Police , squad on
January 12 , 1984 . The driver of the City vehicle was John F. George.
Expenses are for the repair of the damaged vehicle . This office
approves the settlement of Mr . Funk ' s claim in the amount of $400 . 00 .
Claimant , Jerome J. Tima, was involved in an automobile accident with
a City of Saint Paul , Department of Public Works , vehicle on
November 30 , 1983 . The City vehicle was being driven by Richard F.
° Rowan. Mr . Tima had submitted a previous claim for damages to his
vehicle in the amount of $712 .23 . He now has submitted a supplemental
claim of $39 .11 for repairs that were needed which were not noted on
the original estimate . This office approves the settlement of
Mr . Tima ' s claim in the amount of $39 .11 .
