WHEREAS, Saint Paul is a city with an existing outstanding
quality of life , with a wealth of cultural , heritage ,
educational , and recreational facilities , and
WHEREAS, Saint Paul has historically renowned citizens ,
places and events , and
WHEREAS, Saint Paul has the advantage of many potential
tourists and convention attendees , and
WHEREAS, Saint Paul has many residents who are knowledgeable
and curious about the past history, current events and future
usages available to them; now, therefore , be it
RESOLVED, That an advisory committtee be formed, composed
of two suitable and knowledgeable people from each of the seven
City Wards and one person each from the Historical Society,
Heritage Preservation Committee and Chamber of Commerce , and
three at-large positions which represent the educational and
researeh sectors of the population, and one person appointed to
chair the committee , nominated by the Mayor with the consent of
the Council , given a working life of two years and charged to :
A) Identify and list famous past and present residents of
St . Paul ;
B) Identify and catalog notable landmarks within the city;
C) Identify present and potential St. Paul tourist
attractions ;
D) Recommend ways to help boost St. Paul to both visitors
and residents;
