ihat Will be Achieved by Taking Action on the Attached Materials? (PurposelRationale):
Dogs and cats placed under quarantine as rabies suspect are required to be observed
by a member of the Dog Pound staff at the end of the 10-day quarantine period. In
1983 we quarantined 575 dogs and made 897 calls to effect the release. The ratio of
calls to quarantines is 1.58:1. We can not afford this much time, money and effort
to release animals. Owners must be required to be more responsible and make their
animal available for release.
Financial , Budgetary and Personnel Irtacts Anticipated:
We wi11 be able to free-up time for our reduced staff to perform other duties.
