RESOLVED, that the Civil Service Rules be amended in Section 3.B by
striking from Grade 26 the title of Computer Operations Supervisor and inserting
this title in Grade 28; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Civil Service Rules be further amended by
striking from Section 32 the class specification for the title of Computer Operations
Supervisor and by inserting, in proper alphabetical order, the attached specification

General Statement of Duties: Performs supervisory and technical tasks
operating and directing the operation of a computer system and a
key-to-disk system. Provides technical information regarding �
system building, option selection, resource allocation and system
expansion; and performs related duties as required.
Supervision Received: Works under the technical aad administrative
supervision of the Data Processing Manager.
Supervision Exercised: Exercises close technical and/or administrative
supervision over computer operat3ons and data entry personnel.
TYPICAL DLiIES PERFORMED
The listed e.�anples may not include all duties performed by all positions
in this c2ass.
Confers with departments regarding time and reporting requirements;
prepares and distributes reports to departments.
Prepares tapes and disks for input; maintains and updates tape and
disk library.
Operates auxiliary data processing equipment used in overall data
processing operations.
Processes programs from remote �ob entry terminals.
Reviews and logs incoming materials, determines priorities and schedules
workload within the framework of established departmental guidelines.
Performs complex clerical work.
Assigns work to computer operations and data entry personnel, monitors
progress of work and reviews work for accuracy and completeness.
Trains and instructs new employees in computer operations and data entry
procedures.
Reviews difficult and unusual assignments with personnel.
Operates data entry keyboard, CRT keyboard and verifier.
Decollates, bursts and distributes reports to appropriate departments.
