Flynn ju"-- Assistant City Atto ey DATE: January 11, 1984 RE: Claim against the City of Saint Paul by Joseph Harrington On August 31, 1980, plaintiff Joseph Harrington was injured at approximately 10 :30 p.m. when he stepped off the boulevard on Duluth Street near Reaney Street. Mr. Harrington claims that as he stepped off the boulevard a stone which he stepped on gave way and caused him to fall in a hole in street. The stone which he stepped on may have been the remnants of a quarry stone gutter laid by the City in 1890 . As a result of the fall, Mr. Harrington suffered a severe ankle sprain and was required by his physician to remain off work for 8 weeks. In addition, he incurred medical expenses in the amount of approximately $450 . It is recommended that this case be settled for $1, 800 . PKF:paw attach. cc. Greg Haupt ,.}.,`
