RE: CIB APPOINTMENT �
Currently awaiting City Council approval in correnittee are the CIB reappointments of
Susan Girling, District 1 ; Thomas Gmeinder, District 8; Joseph Michels, Distr�Ict 12; -
and Merrill Robinson, District 11 . All of the reappointments have gone through the
process of notification and have been approved. In District 4, the Mayor has made
a new appointment - tha� of Lloyd Peterson.
� In Senate District 64, Planning District 15, the term of Gerald Franck also expired.
� Franck did not want to be considered for reappointment. District 15 sent one name
to the. Mayor for consideration. The Mayor requested that they send two additiona7
names, as required, when making a ne appointment to the CIB. This memo is to
inform you that the Mayor has now reFi ved the two additional names and will forward
to you within the next week his recommendation for District 15.
Just a reminder of the process . .. CIB appointments must be made in accordance with
the mandate of Laws af MN 1983, Chapter 302, ". . ,the Mayor sha11 consult with
legislators in the s'enate district in which a vacancy occurs". On August 30, 1983
we notified planning districts 15, 1 , 8, 12, 4 and 11 of pending vacancies, along
with senators and representatives of �hose areas. �
