1 WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul is preparing far the fmal phase of PEANUTS on Pazade, the
2 suinuZer long tribute to Charles M. Schulz, which will 'mclude an Internet auction of Snoopy
3 sculptures; and
5 WHEREAS, the City Council has previously approved project expenditures, including those for
6 the purpose of commissioning seven Snoopy sculptures to be made specifically for the online
7 auctio�, to be held November 24th through December 8th; and

WHEREAS, each Snoopy sculpture offered for sale will be initially donated to The Saint Paul
Foundation as manager of the Charles M. Schulz Fund to which the proceeds from the auction
will go; and
WIIEREAS, Saint Paul Adininistrative Code § 5.02(7)(c) provides that the Snoopy sculptures
described above, as city-owned properiy, may be transferred to a bona fide charitable
organization upon a resolution ttiat the transfer is related to the function of government, serves a
public purpose and is for the benefit of the community as a whole; and
WHEREAS, the City Council makes the findings as described above:
NOW, T'HEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the St. Paul Director of Marketing & Promotions
is hereby authorized to execute whatever documents are required, including but not limited to a
deed of gift, transferting ownership of the city-owned Snoopy sculptures to The Saint Paul
Foundation for sale during the Internet auction.
