Last summer the city put in a new sidewalk in front of my house and several of my neighbors. I can't begin to tell you what a horrible �ob they did cleaning up and how costly it was to repair their damage. I think the cost of the sidewalk is one thing; however, to repair the grass and the other damage more than doubles your original cost. I do not object to up-dating the neighborhood; but what good is it if the property has a nice new sidewalk and sod ripped up all over. I think if you are doing the job, it should be done completely.
