Pledging support of the City of Saint Paul in the [fiited States Savings Bond
Program and urging participation by City employees in the Automatic Payroll
Savings Plan.
WHEREAS, the United States Savings Bond Program continues to play an
important role in the financing of our government and in the sound management
of the public debt; and
WHEREAS, by p�anoting thrift, the Savings Bond Program contributes to the
economic security of individual families and helps to control inflationary
�essures;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Saint
Paul:
That it reaffirms its continuous su pport of the United States Savings
Bond Program in general and of the Automatic Payroll Savings Plan in specif ic
and urges all City employees to Farticipate in this thriftroriented �rogram.
BE IT FI�2�IER RESOLVED that the Mayor and all deFartment heads be urged
to assume a role of leadership during the Annual United States Savings Bond
campaign for City employees in July so the employee may be made aware of this
opportunity to join the plan.
